Ka-Bar has been an institution in cutlery and has shown a tradition of excellence for over 110 years. Soon after its introduction, the KA-BAR trademark became widely known and respected.  It’s most popular knife has always been the “Original KA-BAR.”  The Original KA-BAR is a 12-inch fighting and utility Bowie knife used by the United States Marine Corps and United States Navy in World War II. A typical KA-BAR knife has a 7" clip-point blade. It is made of 1095 carbon steel and features a leather-washer or synthetic handle made of Kraton (a substitute for rubber, non-slip grip).  The various forms of this knife are still very popular with hunters, fishermen, hikers and outdoorsmen. Marines, as well as Navy and Army personnel continue to carry and use the knife in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as other areas where the War against Terror has been prosecuted.
